The history of chatbot development

The foundation for chatbot development was laid by Joseph Weizenbaum in 1966. The principle used in ELIZA (the first chatbot ever) is the basis of the chatbot development structure. ELIZA was able to fool some users into thinking they were actually talking to a human. 50 years later, the number of chatbots around the world is skyrocketing. Bots have become an integral part of everyday life and are becoming increasingly popular in marketing as well. They enable highly personalized interactions by combining artificial intelligence and real-time information. For example, a chatbot can track numerous conversation histories based on how customers interact with marketing campaigns and what questions they ask on the website. Chatbots enable personalized, authentic conversations and users benefit from better engagement.

How chatbots work

A chatbot is a Computer software programwhich is typically controlled by artificial intelligence and simulates instant messaging. The chatbot technology uses the Natural language processing and artificial intelligence. They are like virtual assistants, who at every customer touchpoint are a better customer experience create. The additional support of customers can be positive impact on sales impact. Buyers can more easily get the information they need to make an informed purchase decision. Chatbots can be found on corporate websites as well as in mobile apps and social media messaging apps. Chatbot technology has become increasingly popular in recent years thanks to Improved AI and machine learning capabilities significantly evolved.

In essence, a chatbot is designed to respond to a user request and, as such, is often referred to as a type of Online chat support  There are two main steps here:
First, the user request is analyzed. This part of the process is the most important step, as it highlights the key information of the request and deciphers the true intent of the user. The second step is the response, where an instruction is given to the user's original request. The chatbot's responses are often rule-based. Rule-based chatbots are typically created for a single defined purpose. Using machine learning (an algorithm that allows learning from previous interactions), these robots are trained to process information and formulate responses based on the input they receive. This process also trains the chatbot, Provide answersthat match the brand's preferred tone of voice and are appropriate for the target audience or customer group. With the help of a system of Pattern matching, natural language processing (NLP) and Keyword Identification the bots can analyze requests and respond with relevant information from a knowledge base. This allows them to provide fast and effective support for frequent requests. For example, if a customer asks for an address, the bot can recognize the keyword "address" or "location" and route the customer to a relevant resource node.
