Sharedien–Storyblok Connector: Central DAM meets headless CMS
Reading time:
minutes
Storyblok has established itself as a modern headless CMS and is particularly popular for flexible, component-based digital projects. Content can be maintained in a structured manner and delivered across various channels.
Here, too, the same applies:
Media is not only used for one platform, but across channels. A central digital asset management system such as Sharedien is indispensable for this.
Currently, however, there is no direct connection between Storyblok and Sharedien.
The familiar problem – even in the headless environment
Without integration, assets must be:
- manually exported from the DAM
- re-imported into Storyblok
- and maintained there separately
This leads to:
- redundant data
- lack of up-to-date information
- and limited transparency regarding asset usage
Especially in headless setups that rely on automation and reusability, this is a clear break in the concept.
Sharedien–Storyblok Connector
Based on our experience with the FirstSpirit Connector, we are currently planning a comparable connector for Storyblok.
The goal is to provide the same core functions:
- Direct use of Sharedien assets in Storyblok
- Maintaining the connection to the DAM
- Transparent asset usage across systems
Here, too, the connector is deliberately designed to be lightweight but highly integrated - in line with the philosophy of headless CMS.
Why this is relevant for companies
Companies with:
- multiple output channels
- agile content teams
- and growing media volumes
benefit enormously from a clean connection between CMS and DAM. A Sharedien–Storyblok Connector creates the basis for:
- consistent brand images
- up-to-date media
- and more efficient editorial processes.
Outlook
The Sharedien–Storyblok Connector is currently in planning.
Companies that use Storyblok and Sharedien as their DAM can look forward to a solution that consistently avoids media breaks.
