asioso was again this year present with four employees at the Pimcore Unconference 2018 and this for the second year in a row with its own lecture.
Over 100 participants gathered in a wonderful Sky- Loft in the old town of Salzburg. Unlike last year, this time Pimcore end customers as well as partners were part of this event. A day full of inspiring speeches, networking and parties.
The keynote of Pimcore, CEO Dietmar Rietsch, showed, besides a review of the past, very exciting year, the company's visions and plans for the future. Here the company wants to position itself more strongly in the field of e-commerce and expand its existing solution even further. This year, the system was already listed by Gartner as a Cool Vendor in the e-commerce sector and was thus additionally honored in this sector in addition to PIM and MDM.
For end customers, this has enormous advantages, since it requires only one single solution for several disciplines such as CMS, DAM, PIM and now also e-commerce. Processes become simpler and more efficient and offer an excellent time to market.
Sophisticated personalization and targeting (the so-called "behavioral targeting engine") are an integral part of the Single- Source Publishing System. Christian Fasching, one of the core developers of Pimcore, impressively presented the power of this data waltz between PIM, shop and CMS. This allows customers to easily configure individual offers in the shop based on user behaviour, thus increasing upselling and cross-selling enormously.
After this impressive presentation asioso was the first partner case study to come on stage. With our case we presented our approach and cooperation in an international project of our customer Avira.
As one of the few partners with experience in the interaction of Pimcore with Amazon Web Services, Content Delivery Network, several Docker instances and Apache Kafka, the highlights of the platform integration to product catalog and e-commerce and other existing systems of the customer were presented. The platform was realized for the company's very broad target group, which ranges from B2C, B2B to OEM. Our presentation met with broad interest in the conference topics and we had many very interesting and inspiring discussions.
In addition, the case studies of the other partners impressively demonstrated the popularity and flexibility of this system in customer projects. Among others, cases from France Abonnement Enterprises, Würth, Vapiano, Intersport and SEAT were presented.
After a packed day with many presentations and interesting conversations, we went together to one of the world's oldest breweries, the "Augustiner Bräu". An old subterranean monastery, where you could enjoy excellent beer and hearty food.
