In addition to the efficiency methods and video conferencing tools presented in the last few papers, there are several other methods that promote productivity in the home office You are suddenly bound to your home office by the corona crisis, but your office there is not as well equipped or structured as the workplace in the company? No problem! With the following tips you will be able to master the new office day productively.

Using a calendar

Using a calendar is a simple trick to plan your working week and thus increase your productivity. Similar to the to-do lists you create in the evening for your daily tasks, a calendar helps you keep track of your projects and meetings. You calculate in advance how much time you need for your tasks and never forget important meetings. Companies often offer synchronized online calendars that all team members can use and schedule appointments.

time recording

If you actively record the times you work, you will be more productive in the long run, work more efficiently and get your free time more quickly. In your home office, you may quickly come to the conclusion that you have all day to work. You take your time and extend projects. It doesn't have to be that way! Set yourself time limits and try to keep to them. Then note the times in your calendar or in an Excel sheet. In this way you will become aware of your working hours and learn to better estimate how long you will need for certain tasks.

Managing Notes with Evernote

If your desk is overflowing with notes that spread all over the room at the slightest movement of air, Evernote will help you. Organize your private notes and meeting transcripts and move your paperwork to the virtual desk. Reminders for specific notes can be set up and you can also share information with colleagues.

Scanning with Apps

Are you faced with the problem in your home office that you do not know how to scan documents because you lack the high-tech equipment from your company. The good news is that you do not have to buy a scanner. Free smartphone apps are usually enough to quickly digitize one or two documents. This works via the camera function of your mobile phone. Post-processing is also possible.

Dress as if you are going to work

You should not only put on a shirt when a video conference is due, but generally dress as if you have to leave the house and go to work. This will help you to get the right mindset and therefore more productivity at home. If you come to your desk with the right inner attitude, the tasks will be easier for you
