Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of science within computer science that deals with the representation and automation of human behavior (perception, action, thinking) in machines.
The pragmatic goal was to create "human" machines that are equal to humans and can develop independently. After decades of research this idealistic approach came to a dead end. It was understood that simple programming could not get closer to the solution without also thoroughly exploring the "spirit" of the human being. Therefore, AI today is an interdisciplinary science consisting of AI research (software, technology), neurology and psychology.
